„Mr. Parking Denmark“ – Torben Andersen

His identification with the range of products and corporate philosophy of the Schweers group as well as his market and branch know-how for many years now were the deciding factors for entrusting Torben Andersen with a new job position in the Schweers International group of companies. His new job position can be described as “Mr. Parking Denmark” of Schweers International. He has just been named as Branch Manager of the Schweers Consult GmbH Nordic. In an interview he spoke about his professional career up to now, the reasons why Schweers International is a very fascinating company and why he is looking forward to his new job challenge, as well as about future business goals.
The interview was conducted by Christian Dick.

Question: How long have you been employed with the company Schweers Consult GmbH Nordic now and how did you become an employee of the company?
Torben Andersen: I have been employed with the Schweers Consult GmbH Nordic since 2006. At that time the Schweers group was basically a hardware manufacturer of the handheld computers for parking enforcement, like the X600. The Schweers group bought a competing company in Denmark, with which I was employed at that time.
I originally have a Software Developer background and studied Information Technology at the University of Copenhagen. I was needed for my detailed knowledge about the products of the overtaken company and contacts in the Danish market. I was therefore hired as a project manager and the connecting link to the Danish customers. At the same time, I could assist Schweers in integrating the Ticketman handheld computer and software systems.

SAMBA É VIDA attracts the sun at the company summer party and many good reasons to celebrate for Schweers group of companies

On September 8, 2023 PanStreet International became part of the Schweers International group of companies headquartered in Meerbusch. Coincidentally this goes along with the 35th anniversary of the company.

In addition to this, Michael Schweers appointed the long-time employees Dirk-Oliver Harms and Hecham Haykal as Managing Directors of Schweers Consult GmbH and PanStreet International GmbH. "It is a great pleasure for me that our highly estimated team-members continue the work what started 35 years ago and that they thus ensure the successful future of the group of companies and make sure that the very good social cohesion, like in a big family, continues", emphasized company owner Michael Schweers. With the aim to support the team spirit, there are always joint activities in addition to work that promote togetherness in everyday company life.  Thus, this year's summer party was again a very good opportunity for the Schweers team to exchange ideas in a casual atmosphere.

Update KV 11 Ramses III Project

First use of #Zebra's Rugged #Tablets in the excavation site in the Valley of the Kings was successful. The tablets were in operation inside and outside the excavation house for the preparatory inventory and damage mapping on the wall paintings, the scientific research. Daily multiple internet and power failures with daytime temperatures above 40℃ were not a problem for the tablets.

Discussing the future

From 8 July until 22 July Arunas Blandis, who has been Managing Director at Schweers Australia Pty Limited since 2006, is in Europe. He also visited the headquarters of the Schweers Group in Meerbusch-Osterath and saw his impression confirmed that the group of companies Schweers/PanStreet is always one step ahead in technological terms.

Michael Schweers, Managing Director, founder and owner, and Arunas Blandis discussed future forms of mobility. Michael Schweers demonstrated his drone at the company premises and explained the rules for controlling drones in Germany and especially in North-Rhine Westphalia. Three operating categories, drone license and mandatory marking: on June 18, 2021, adaptations to national law became effective, concretizing the directly applicable European requirements. The basic idea behind the new regulation is a risk-based approach, i.e. the greater the risk of drone operation, the higher the requirements for people and technology. The contact for flight operations in the open category is the locally responsible aviation authority. For example, in North Rhine-Westphalia, this is the Düsseldorf district government for the administrative districts of Cologne and Düsseldorf.

PanStreet and Zebra in the Valley of the Kings

The development process of „Ramesses III. – Publication and Conservation Project“ began in 2011. In 2017, the concession for this project was granted by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The project focuses on the preservation, documentation and publication of the tomb of King Ramesses III.The project is institutionally supervised by the Humboldt-Universität in Berlin, in cooperation with the Egyptian universities of Luxor and Qena.

The company Zebra, a manufacturer of mobile handheld computers, has just provided the terminals for excavation for this project.  For implementing this work, Zebra needed a project partner handling the service. In this context, the company Zebra had the idea to take its business partner PanStreet International as a project partner on board. PanStreet International based in Meerbusch in the German Federal State of North-Rhine Westphalia has just won the „ZEBRA Innovation Award 2022“. In the framework of this project, PanStreet International purchases and provides the hardware, this means the devices, and it is entrusted with the service and warranty handling.  Zebra is sponsoring the devices in this project and PanStreet International is sponsoring the service.

Multiple application options of PanStreet Traffic Monitoring System

PanStreet International belonging to the Schweers group has an excellent reputation because of its company software Politess® Mobile. It is primarily used for the detection of parking violations and for the recording of general offences.

Due to the possibility of the integration of GPS data determination PanStreet International was in the position to develop a new app for the Düsseldorf carnival procession on 20 February 2023. By means of this app an active mobile device could regularly send GPS data about the course of the procession, as well as images created directly on the mobile device, automatically to the central organization office of the carnival procession in Düsseldorf. This project was very successful. There are, thus, manifold options for the application of the software Politess® Mobile for Android & iOS from the company PanStreet International including event and traffic flow monitoring.  In this way, the software makes a considerable contribution to counteracting or averting a traffic collapse, especially in conurbations.
